L'Oréal Perfect Match / Accord Parfait foundation

Have you tried the Perfect Match (or True Match) liquid foundation from L'Oreal? It's not a new product but they have now developed a new formula and added some new lighter tones. There are 9 shades available here in Germany and I have tried 2 of them: 2N Vanilla and 2R/2C Rose Vanilla.

This foundation is supposed to be super blendable and adapt to every skin tone and under-tone giving a homogeneous finish. It also provides 24h of moisture and combines 4 products in one: concealer, primer, powder and foundation, which I find too much promising for a 12€ foundation.

//Esta base se supone que es muy fundente y que se adapta a cada tono y subtono de piel aportando un acabado homogéneo. También proporciona 24 horas de hidratación y combina 4 productos en uno: corrector, prebase, polvos y base de maquillaje, lo que a mí me parece un poco demasiado prometedor para un maquillaje de unos 12€.//

As I said, here in Germany there are 9 shades available and the lighter one is 1.5N Linen. The numbers tell you how dark it is, the more higher the number, the shade is darker. And the letter tells you if the under-tone is neutral (N), cold (C) or warm (W). I have two number 2: one in cold (rose vanilla, on the left in the pictures) and the other one in neutral (vanilla, on the right), and I must say I'm not 100% sure if any of them really matches my skin. I also find it hard for this product to match every skin in general with only 9 shades...
There is also a "shade genius" card (you can see on the pic below) that helps you to find your right tone with an app and your phone, but I haven't tried it as I'm not going to buy more shades of this foundation for the moment.

//Como dije, aquí en Alemania hay 9 tonos disponibles y el más claro es el 1.5N Linen. Los números te dicen cómo de oscuro es el tono, cuanto más alto es el número, más oscuro es el maquillaje. Y las letras te dicen si el subtono es neutral (N), frío (R de rosado) o dorado (D). Yo tengo dos números 2: uno en frío (vanilla rose, el de la izquierda de las fotos) y el otro en neutral (vanilla, a la derecha), y tengo que decir que no estoy 100% segura de si ninguno de los dos se adapta de verdad a mi piel. También me parece de hecho difícil que este maquillaje sea capaz de adaptarse a todas las pieles en general con solo 9 tonos...
También existe una tarjeta "shade genius" (se ve en la foto de abajo) que te ayuda a encontrar tu tono adecuado con una aplicación y tu móvil, pero no la he probado porque de momento no tengo pensado comprar más tonos de este maquillaje.//

I have tried both shades of the same foundation and although I find it ok, it doesn't impress me completely. It's ok for a mid-range foundation but to be honest I have other foundations I like better. This product is quite liquid and blendable, that's true, but it has a kind of powdery /matte finish combined with shiny particles that I don`t like for my dry skin. Furthermore as I said I don't think any of both #2 shades I have really match my skin, and I don't think the lighter tone would be the right either or the darker level 3.

//Pues he probado los dos colores diferentes de este mismo maquillaje y aunque está bien no me termina de convencer. Está bien para ser una base de gama media pero sinceramente tengo otras que me gustan más. Esta base es bastante líquida y es verdad que es muy fácil de aplicar, pero tiene un acabado un tanto empolvado combinado con partículas brillantes que no me gusta mucho para mi piel seca. Además como ya dije creo que ninguno de los dos tonos nº2 me queda bien del todo, aunque tampoco me parece que el más claro me fuera bien, ni el siguiente nivel 3 tampoco.//

You can see above the two shades on my wrist, although I know it's not the same than seeing them on my face and live, the best is to try it yourself directly on your skin. Anyway you can get an idea of how they look like, on the left is the cold shade rose vanilla which is more pinkish, and on the right is the neutral tone vanilla, more beige.

Essence make-up brushes "make me pretty"

Have you seen or bought any of the Essence brushes that were available in stores this august/september? This collection is called "make me pretty" and it's all about brushes with gorgeous designs and graphical patterns in bright colours, I love them!

The blush brush is the pink below, it has a special slanted head that adapts to the contours of the cheeks for a particularly smooth application of blush, it's also ideal for shading and modeling.
The bronzer brush is the mint one, the best brush to achieve a perfect natural-looking glow. Its flat shape and supple bristles capture just enough bronzing powder to ensure a great hue.

More brushes: the darker pink below is the eyeshadow blender brush, it has flat and short bristles, the ideal tool for blending eyeshadow. It ensures a smooth finish in just a few controlled strokes.
The mint one is the precise eyeshadow brush, the rounded and thinner shape of the soft bristles allows a particularly accurate application of powder eyeshadow, perfect for detailed results.
And the light pink brush is for the lips, If you want to achieve a flawless lipstick look, you can do it with a lip brush, the little brush head and the slanted bristles allow a clean and accurate application for perfect results.

Tha big brush below is the powder and highlighter brush. The fanned out, super soft bristles and the special shape allow a simple application of loose or pressed textures on larger areas of skin. The brush makes powder and highlighter easy to blend for a flawless finish.
The other 3 little brushes are actually just one: the multi use eyeshadow brush. The practical tool unites three different eyeshadow applicators (an angle, a sponge and a crease brush) in one pen. The bristles of the angle brush are ideal for applying sophisticated, detailed styles on your lids and brows, while the sponge brush is great for the application of eyeshadow on larger surfaces of your lid. The crease brush is for shading and contouring in the crease of your lid. The applicators can be interchanged and put together again effortlessly.

Los pelitos del angulado son perfectos para hacer looks sofisticados y detallados en los párpados y la zona de las cejas, mientras que la esponja es muy buena para aplicar sombra por todo el párpado. El mini pincel picudo es para sombrear y dar forma en la arruga del párpado. Estos aplicadores se pueden intercambiar y juntar como se quiera sin problemas.//

Finally to the collection also belong a brush box and a liquid cleanser.
The cool, bright turquoise box in a cylinder shape is the ideal home for all your favorite brushes. You can keep your brushes all toghether at home or when you’re on the road.
The liquid cleanser is pink and is supposed to remove the makeup residues quickly and easily. You don't need any water, just spray directly on the brush, let work for a couple of minutes and then rub gently with a cloth. What I don't like is that it smells much of alcohol.

//Por último la colección también se compone de un estuche para los pinceles y un limpiador líquido.
El estuche turquesa con forma cilíndrica es muy práctico para tener los pinceles juntos en casa o para llevártelos de viaje. A mí me parece mono y nada caro: 4,50€.
El limpiador líquido es rosa y se supone que se lleva todos los restos de maquillaje rápida y fácilmente. No se necesita agua, sólo aplicar directamente en el pincel, dejar actuar un par de minutos y después frotar suavemente con un paño. Lo que no me gusta es que huele mucho a alcohol, pero de precio está bien: 2,50€.//

There are two more brushes that I don't have but also belong to the collection: an eyebrow comb and a concealer brush.
Do you like this collection? I love the designs and I find all products practical and not expensive at all, all brushes cost between 1,80€ and 3,30€. Furthermore they're all very soft. However I missed a foundation brush.

//Me faltan dos pinceles que también pertenecen a la colección pero que no tengo y serían un cepillito para las cejas y un pincel para el corrector. 
¿Os gusta esta colección? A mí me ha parecido muy mona, práctica y barata, todos los cepillos cuestan entre 1,80€ y 3,30€. Además son todos súper suaves. Sin embargo he echado de menos un pincel para el maquillaje fluido//

Essence new products S/S 15

Yes, the spring/summer season is settling in at Essence and you can already find new products available on stores! I have some of them: nail polishes, lipsticks, a blush and a couple of things for the eyes. They're all new except the mono eyeshadow, but let me show you them one by one.

//Sí, la primavera/verano ya se está instalando en Essence y ya se pueden encontrar sus nuevos productos en las tiendas! Yo tengo algunos de ellos: lacas de uñas, labiales, un colorete y un par de cosas para los ojos. Son todos nuevos excepto la sombra de ojos mono, pero mejor os los voy enseñando uno a uno.//

I have 2 lip glosses and 2 lipsticks. The lip glosses are nude and are joining the family of popular XXXL lipglosses. This new nude range is available in 6 soft shades, mine are the 01 Shy Beauty (the light pink) and 03 Taste the Sweets (the dark pink), both create a fresh look perfect for every occasion.
The lipsticks are also nude, one of the biggest trend of the new season by Essence. Their bestselling lipsticks are now available in 5 nude shades too, I have the 01 Wearing only a Smile (light) and 03 Come Naturally (dark), both have a creamy texture but I like 03 better than 01.

Yo tengo el 01 Wearing only a Smile (el claro) y 03 Come Naturally (oscuro), los dos tienen una textura cremosa pero me gusta más el 03 que el 01 por el color.//

Many nail polishes are also new on stores and of course The Nudes must me among them. As you can see I have 2 from this collection, one in pink (07 hope for love) and one in nearly white (05 pure soul), but there are 10 more colours you can buy.
You can find the most variety of colours in The Gel Nail Polish collection: 46 colours! I have 3: 11 Forever Young (red), 25 Prince Charming (green) and 04 Our Sweetest Day (very light shiny beige). They're supposed to be long-lasting and provide a gel finish. What I don't like about them is that they're very liquid and make the application a bit difficult. And the same happens with The Nudes.
A base coat and a top coat are also among the new products. Their formula improves the durability of "The Gel Nail Polish" collection by 60% without the need for a LED or UV lamp. I like specially the top coat, it drys very quickly and leaves a great finish.

//Hay muchas nuevas lacas de uñas de Essence en las tiendas y por supuesto The Nudes no pueden faltar entre ellas. Como veis yo tengo dos de esa colección, una en rosa (07 Hope for Love) y otra en casi blanco (05 Pure Soul), pero hay 10 colores más.
La gama de colores más amplia la podéis encontrar en la colección The Gel Nail Polish: 46 colores! Yo tengo 3: el 11 Forever Young (rojo), 25 Prince Charming (verde) y el 04 Our Sweetest Day (beige muy suave brillante). Se supone que son de larga duración y aportan un acabado gel. Lo que no me gusta es que son muy líquidos por lo que se desparraman completamente y hace la aplicación difícil. Lo mismo pasa con los The Nudes.
Una base y un top coat también se encuentran entre los nuevos productos. Su fórmula mejora la durabilidad de la colección "The Nail Polish" en un 60% sin necesidad de lámparas LED o UV. Me gusta sobre todo el top coat, se seca rápido y deja un bonito acabado.//

There're also new things for the eyes: mascaras, eyeliners, eyeshadows... I have the Lash Princess false lash effect mascara, which belongs to the Lash Princess family and the brush is slightly bent.
The Easy 2 Use eyeliner pen is supposed to be very accurate and easy to apply thanks to the innovative brush tip. It's only available in black.
The mono eyeshadow is a relauch, the design and the texture have been improved making it easier to apply and blend. They're available in 19 colours (mine is 15 hazel me not!) with different effects (matt, shimmering, slightly metallic...).
And the last product is the Silky Touch Blush, this is actually not new, only the colour is new (90 summer dreaming) a pastel coral which joins the other 5 shades.

//También hay cositas nuevas para los ojos: máscaras, eyeliners, sombras... Tengo la máscara Lash Princess false lash effect, que pertenece a la familia Lash Princess y tiene un cepillo ligeramente ladeado.
El eyeliner Easy 2 Use se supone que es muy preciso y fácil de aplicar gracias a su punta innovadora. Sólo está disponible en negro.
La sombra de ojos mono en realidad se ha relanzado, no es nueva. Su diseño y su textura se han mejorado para hacer más fácil su aplicación y el difuminado. Está disponible en 19 colores (el mío es 15 Hazel me not!) con diferentes efectos (mate, brillante, ligeramente metálico...).
Y el último producto es el Silky Touch Blush, este colorete no es nuevo del todo, sólo lo es el color (90 Summer Dreaming), un coral pastel que se une a los otros 5 tonos.//

Catrice Feathers & Pearls

I tried the red nail polish with the sequins on one nail and this is the result. I'm not very good at painting my own nails but I actually like my job! You can also find the nail sequins in golden, but I have the black version which actually goes perfect with the red and the golden polishes that I have.

Me probé el esmalte rojo con las lentejuelas en una uña y este es el resultado. La verdad es que no soy muy buena pintándome las uñas pero estoy bastante contenta con cómo ha quedado. También hay las lentejuelas en dorado, pero yo tengo la versión negra que la verdad es que queda perfecta con mis esmaltes rojo y dorado.

And these are the two lipsticks that I have, one is almost the same color as the nail polish (C03) and the other one is more pink (C01).
I also tried the eyebrow fixing pen and I love it, it's a white pen but when you use it on the eyebrows it's transparent and it gives them a perfect definition.
I haven't tried the false eyelashes yet, I must say I don't like the shiny appliqués that much, but I guess you have to try them to see how the look on you. They come with a glue.

Y estos son las barras de labios que tengo, una es de color casi idéntico al del esmalte (C03) y la otra es más rosa (C01).
También probé el fijador de cejas y me encanta, es como un lápiz blanco pero cuando lo usas es transparente y le da una perfecta definición a las cejas.
Las pestañas postizas no las he probado aún, la verdad es que no me gusta demasiado el toque de brillantitos que tienen en las esquinas, pero supongo que es cuestión de ver cómo quedan puestas. Incluyen un pegamento.

Chanel Vitalumière foundation

I wrote a post about the Estée Lauder DayWear BB cream some time ago (you can read it here), I told you there are 2 make-up products that I love for the face, the Estée Lauder BB cream and the Chanel Vitalumière foundation, and this time I'm going to tell you about this foundation.

Hace un tiempo escribí un post sobre la BB cream DayWear de Estée Lauder (lo podéis leer aquí), dije que había dos productos de maquillaje para el rostro que me encantaban, la BB cream de Estée Lauder y la base de maquillaje Vitalumière de Chanel, y hoy toca hablaros de ese maquillaje. 

I had often heard how good the Vitalumière foundation was and that it was perfect for dry skin (like mine) so I had to try it, because I'd neved found the right foundation for very dry skin like mine and I finally wanted something good. The problem with these brands is that the prices aren't usually very low, so you must be sure that the product is the right for you before you decide to spend aprox. 44€, which is the price of this foundation. Nobody gave me a sample (which is actually the best way to try it before deciding), but I tried the testers in the shop and a professional applied me full makeup so at the end I decided to give it a try!

I must say I'm happy about the decision I made, the texture of Chanel Vitalumière is very fluid (better than thick foundations for me) so it applies very smoothly giving you a dewy finish. I've often had problems with other foundations before that flaked and accentuated dry patches, but Vitalumière doesn't do that! As Chanel says, the light texture gives a slightly satin finish for a radiant, natural, youthful-looking makeup. The pump dispenses the needed amount for a single application, but you must know this foundation provides medium coverage. I don't recommend this product for oily skin, and for summer I may also better use the Vitalumière Aqua version.

Había escuchado muchas veces lo bueno que es el maquillaje Vitalumière de Chanel y que era ideal para pieles secas (como la mía), así que tenía que probarlo, ya que aún no había encontrado la base perfecta para mi piel extra seca y quería por fin algo bueno. El problema de estas marcas es que los precios no suelen ser muy bajos, por lo que tienes que estar muy segura de que el producto es bueno para ti antes de decidir gastarte unos 44€ que es lo que cuesta esta base de Chanel. Nadie me quiso dar una muestra (que sería la mejor manera de probar si te va bien antes de nada), pero probé los tester de la tienda y además una profesional me maquilló completamente y al final le di una oportunidad al Vitalumiére.

Tengo que decir que estoy encantada con mi decisión, la textura de Chanel Vitalumière es muy fluida (para mi piel mucho mejor que las bases densas), se extiende muy suave y fácil y te da un acabado jugoso. Antes había tenido muchos problemas con otras bases que me escamaban la piel y me acentuaban las zonas secas, pero con este maquillaje no me pasa nunca. Como dice la propia marca, su textura ligera ofrece un resultado ligeramente satinado, natural, luminoso y rejuvenecedor. El dosificador dispensa la cantidad necesaria para una aplicación, pero también tenéis que saber que es de cobertura media. No recomiendo este maquillaje para pieles grasas y para el verano creo que sería incluso mejor la versión Vitalumière Aqua.
